Habits

Hearing the opening lines of this song won me over instantly.
"I eat my dinner in my bathtub
then I go to sex clubs
watching freaky people
gettin' it on"
And then I heard the chorus "I gotta stay high, all the time, to keep you off my mind". The execution of this song is spot on. Her overwhelming sadness can only be dealt with by constant substance abuse escape, which obviously isn't sustainable, but being in the 'play pretend' is the only viable option with sadness this great.  If you haven't been in this position yourself,  you've at one point been able to relate to someone who has fallen into the downward spiral that "Habits" describes. Enjoy!
