Adrift

This is how beginnings of weeks should be. Easy on the start, gradual, and beautiful. Okay, realistically this is how people in their 40's spend their week of vacation and not how every normal Joe's work week really goes. The violin on this track is the show stealer, It's right up front and you can hear the realness of the strings against the bow on each stroke. Enjoy!

From the Dust... We Ran to Greet the Dawn

Nine times out of ten I'm playing some instrumental post rock style playlist after a long weekend of too much fun and excitement. I have always enjoyed a beautiful instrumental, where the lyrical chorus is written in my head and changes with every listen. This track brings plenty of emotion and style along its journey. I especially appreciate the sprinkled xylophone use mainly in the lower register. Enjoy!

The Skull Hand Smiles / May You Fare Well

I get it, this is a long song. In fact, the first 2 minutes is basically bass guitar plucking with some ambient sounds setting the stage. I like the fact that Drift takes their time on this song, breaking out of the need to power pack a song into a 3minute 30 second container made for radio. The drums hit at the 7 minute mark, and the track takes form. I love an epic, and this is definitely an epic. Enjoy!

Fevered Egos

It takes time and patience to appreciate the beautiful journey that this track travels. I envision the song starting out at night, and upon hearing the hustle and bustle of people enters sunrise. This is when the piano is introduced. The song continuously builds and builds gaining momentum and building emotion, when at last -it's over. Enjoy!
