Keep A Light Lit

This track has the speed of a Sunday. There's a bit of a Coconut Records vibe to this track, and I also get that 2002 Rules of Attraction vibe as well. The feelings of searching hard -asking the tough questions in order to truly find yourself, while also wanting to simply enjoy the time right now and extend the moment. Enjoy!

The opening lines of this song are magical.
"No this is not my guitar,
I'm bringing it to a friend.
No I don't sing,
I'm only humming along."
The delicate vocals, and soft guitar create a heavy hearted introspective. The track is beautifully crafted, and the lyrics are lovely. Enjoy!

Georgia

I think people are attracted to songs begging for one more chance, remembering how things went so wrong, and wishing that the outcome could have been anything besides what it was. We can all relate to regret, and longing for just one more chance. Perhaps this is why there are so many songs with that exact theme.  This song has just that theme, while it is not ground breaking in concept, the execution is marvelous. I love the combination of her soft voice and simple strings. I can just see her sitting on a stool stomping a foot while she painfully strums out this song. Enjoy!

Take On Me

You've heard the song before, everyone has. I love how Anni B Sweet personalizes and cutesy-fies this well known piece.  I always focus on her humble warm voice when I hear this song, especially the la la la la at the end, which is also my favorite part of the original. Enjoy!

Murder In The City

What we have here is a few dudes, a few guitars, and a beautiful song. The song talks about family, brothers, and the wanting to be remembered. Towards the end a piano sneaks in a few notes, adding to the final climax. I find myself listening to the emotion in the vocals, and then the lyrics. Enjoy!

Genesis

I love to listen to the strings on this song. It starts with a beautiful plucked guitar, and later violins are introduced.  There is something special about the way he sings the words from his mouth, it's got that signature 70's emotion.  If you really really listen you can just make out his foot tapping to the beat during some of the song. I love geeking out to stuff like that. Enjoy!

EDM Medley #1

My friend posted this on FB, apparently this is a friend of one of my friends. I love her voice. It's fun how she takes these songs that you can't really escape unless you live in a world without electricity, and makes them feel brand new (yet you can still sing along to). She's covered them well, and transitions them even better. This is what I'd play on repeat during the quiet ride home after raving till 6am. Enjoy!

Ebon Coast

The second time listening to this track I figured I'd count the guitars, were there 2 or were there 3? The track is beautiful as it is amazing.  The song is simple and serene to start, then it becomes a tad frantic, and then smoothed out eventually for the soft finish. I can listen to talented string plucking like this for days on end. Enjoy!
